Job Fraud Leaves Mangaluru Youth Duped of Rs 5.8 Lakh in Karkala

A resident of Karkada village in Karkala, Udupi district, fell victim to a job fraud, losing Rs 5.8 lakh in the process. The youth, identified as Amith, filed a complaint with the Udupi CEN police, stating that the accused, Sooraj S Shekhar, had promised him employment in a foreign country. Amith was subsequently coerced into making online payments totaling Rs 5,81,300 to the accused. The police have registered a case under IPC sections 406, 417, and 420 in response to the complaint.
