Karnataka: 3-day Bengaluru-Mangaluru special trains till Aug 31

Mangaluru: The West Coast Rail Yatra Development Committee had requested Railway Department to provide an extra train daily between Mangaluru – Bengaluru as a result of landslides. MP Nalin Kumar Kateel had met the Railway Minister and requested to run an extra train between Mangaluru – Bengaluru. Responding to this request, the Railway Board has given approval to run an additional special train.

Due to the impassability of Mangaluru – Bengaluru Highway, there has been a high demand for train due to traffic, and to facilitate the handling of passenger traffic, between Mangaluru Central and Bengaluru City Junction. The Railway Board has approved special night train service for three days a week from July 26th to 31st August.

The new train will begin its journey from Bengaluru at 8.30 pm, will reach Kengeri at 8.49 pm, Ramanagaram 9.13 pm, Channarayapattana 9.24 pm, Mandya 9.54, Mysuru Junction 11.00 pm, Krishnarajanagar 11.49 pm, Holenarasipura mid night 12.43 am, Hassan 1.35 am, Sakleshpura morning 3.00 am, Subramanya Road 6.10 am, Kabaka – Puttur 7.00 am, Bantwala 7.30 am, Padil 8.25 am, Mangaluru Junction 8.13 am, Mangalore Central at 09.05 am.

The train departs from Mangaluru at 6.35 pm, Mangaluru Junction 6.48 pm, Padil 7.10 pm, Bantwala 7.20 pm, Kabaka Puttur 7.48 pm, Subrahmanya Road at 8.40 pm, Sakleshpur 9.20 m, Hassan midnight 12.25 am, Holenarsipura 1.13 am, Krishnarajanagara 2.08 am, Mysore Junction morning 3.00 am, Mandya 3.54 am, Channarayapattana 4.30 am, Ramanagaram 4.42 am, Kengeri 5.11 am, and will reach Bengaluru City Junction at 6.15 am.

Kannur-Bengaluru night train is running full every day. The railway activists have expressed the demand that an additional coach should be installed for the train plying on this route to facilitate the passengers.

Train number 06548 will run from Mangaluru to Bengaluru City from July 27 to August 31 every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Train number 06547 will run from Bengaluru to Mangaluru from July 26 to August 30 every Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday. There is no special train service from Bengaluru every Friday and from Mangaluru every Saturday.
