Kundapur: A fire mishap reported from the Padukalaya footwear shop at Vaishali Complex at Shastri circle in Kundapur on May 13, Monday, has partially gutted the shop.
The fire was first noticed at around 8 am. The fire service department was soon informed and the fire was extinguished with the help of locals. There was apprehension in the air as there were many shops in the building. But the fire service personnel who were quick in putting out the fire, averted further spread of the fire to the nearby shops.
However, a major portion of the storage area of the shop was gutted in the fire. The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained. The extent of loss is also not known.
Kundapur police have registered a case.
