Laptop thief arrested in train

Kasargod : A software engineer  who was an expert in stealing laptops from  passengers of AC coaches in trains, was arrested by the Railway police at Palakkad.

The arrested man is P Sajeesh (39) of Koothuparamba in Kannur. Police have recovered 17 laptops, 27 sovereigns gold, 15 mobile phones, 10 watches, camera and other valuables from him. The accused was running a firm by named Soft Networking Technologies in Rajajinagar, Bangalore.

Police said several cases had been registered against him in Palakkad, Trissur, Ernakulam, Shornur and  other stations in Tamil Nadu . They said since the past one year, they have been receiving several complaints of theft s of laptops from AC bogies of trains. Mostly the  thefts took place in Chennai, Tiruvananthapuram, Yashwanthapura, Kannur  and Chennai trains. After his work he used to get down the train at the next  station.

The police in a secret operation trapped him while he was travelling in the Coimbatore-Trissur passenger train.
