LDF Candidate Seeks Support from Mangaluru Bishop Ahead of Elections

M V Balakrishnan, the Left Democratic Front (LDF) candidate contesting from the Kasargod Lok Sabha constituency, recently met with Dr. Peter Paul Saldanha, the Bishop of Mangaluru, to seek his support and blessings for the upcoming elections.

During the meeting, Balakrishnan assured the bishop of his commitment to raising his voice against fascism and the autocracy of Sangh Parivar in parliament. He also pledged to fight against communal forces and fundamentalists, aiming to uphold the values of inclusivity and secularism.

In response, Bishop Peter Paul Saldanha extended his best wishes to M V Balakrishnan for the forthcoming elections. He encouraged the candidate to stand by the community during challenging times and in the pursuit of justice.

Additionally, the bishop sought information about an electoral bond case initiated by CPIM, which received a favorable verdict from the Supreme Court.

Accompanying Balakrishnan were CPIM leaders K R Jayananda and Raghudev Master, along with members of the Catholic Sabha Central Committee including Raju Stephan D’Souza Kumbla, Stevan Valencia, Stany Lobo Bantwal, and writer Stany Bela.
