The anti-corruption agency Lokayukta has launched widespread raids on government officials across 13 districts in Karnataka on Wednesday morning, according to officials.
With over 100 Lokayukta sleuths deployed, simultaneous raids are being conducted at 60 locations spanning Bengaluru, Bidar, Ramanagara, Uttara Kannada districts, among others. In Bengaluru alone, five locations are under scrutiny, as per sources.
Heading the operation are 13 Superintendents of Police and 12 Deputy Superintendents of Police.
This follows a similar initiative in January, where the Lokayukta raided government officials’ residences at 40 locations related to 10 corruption cases. These raids occurred simultaneously across Tumakuru, Mandya, Chikkamagaluru, Mysuru, Koppal, Vijayanagara, Ballari, Hassan, Chamarajanagara, and Mangaluru.
