Kasaragod: One fisherman died and two others are suspected missing at Neeleshwar, when their boat toppled in the rough seas on December 1.

Sunil Kumar (40), resident of Kanhangad Hosahitlu is feared dead as he was swept away in hightides.

The coastal police and rescue boats managed to save two others and they have been admitted to Periyaram Medical College Hospital.

Due to low pressure in the Bay of Bengal, Kasaragod and surrounding areas are receiving rains and the high tides are a major concern for people living on the coastal belt.

More rains with winds blowing at high speeds are expected in Northern Kerala in the next 24 hours.

District Collector Jeevan Babu warned the fishermen community not to venture into sea waters till situation improves.

Kanhangad, Chittari, Kikanya, Pallikere, Manikoth and Kumble towns were hit by thundershowers today.
