A disturbing incident unfolded in Mangaluru as a man faced assault after politely requesting his visiting relative to lower his voice due to his sleeping child. Ramesh K, aged 37 and hailing from Balpa village in Kadaba, lodged a complaint recounting the events that transpired. According to his statement, his relative, Sundar Hosmatt, had arrived at his residence on Tuesday evening. However, when Hosmatt began speaking loudly, Ramesh courteously asked him to lower his voice out of consideration for his sleeping child.

Unfortunately, rather than respecting the simple request, Hosmatt purportedly flew into a fit of rage and assaulted Ramesh with a sickle. The severity of the attack necessitated Ramesh’s admission to the Subrahmanya Primary Health Centre for treatment on Wednesday. In response to the complaint, authorities have registered a case under IPC section 324, which deals with voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapon or means. An investigation into the matter is currently underway.
