Mangaluru: A case has been registered with the Cyber Crime Police Station stating that a woman caller conned a man of approximately Rs. 7 lakh under the guise of increasing his credit card’s cash and credit limits.
As per the complaint, the man who has an SBI credit card, received a call from a woman on Friday October 29 claiming to be from the SBI credit card office. The caller stated that she was calling to confirm the credit card details.
She assured to increase the credit and cash limits and urged him to share the OTP.
Since he believed the call was real, he gave the caller his OTP number, and an amount of Rs. 99,274 was immediately deducted from his account.
Further investigation is on in this regard by the Cyber Crime Police.
