Mangalore University (MU) has altered its convocation certificate dispatch procedure, causing inconvenience to graduates. Previously, certificates were sent directly to graduates via post, but now they are sent to the respective colleges of the candidates.
The change was reportedly made based on requests from college principals, who emphasized the need to record certificates in their office for various purposes. However, graduates have voiced concerns, stating that the fee paid for convocation includes the service of mailing certificates directly to their addresses.
H Devendrappa, registrar (evaluation) at MU, confirmed that the decision was made in response to requests from college principals to send certificates directly to colleges instead of candidates. This new arrangement has led to inconvenience for graduates, who now need to personally collect their certificates from the college campuses.
