Mangaluru: The academic year 2023-24 for primary and secondary schools will begin from May 29

The Office of the Commissioner of Public Instruction has issued a circular stating that it will start from May 29. The first period will be from May 29 to October 7 and the Dussehra holiday will be from October 8 to October 24.

The second term will be from October 25 to April 10, 2024. The summer vacation will begin from April 11 and will continue till May 28. A circular issued by the office of the Commissioner of Public Instruction has directed Government, aided and unaided primary and secondary schools of the State curriculum to conduct uniform academic activities.

In order to make up for the learning setback/learning shortage caused by Covid – 19, the last year’s learning recovery programme was launched at the beginning of the academic year. The Karnataka School Examinations and Evaluation Board (KSEB) has decided to award grace marks to students appearing for this year’s SSLC exams considering it as an academic year under the impact of Covid – 19.
