Mangaluru: The development work on the Aranthodu-Adtale-Elimale Road in Sullia Taluk of Dakshina Kannada District, which has been a prestige issue for many years finally has begun.

The people of the area had been demanding the development of this road for many years. The Aranthodu Citizens’ Hitarakshana Vedike had appealed to the people’s representatives and officials as MLAs several times. Last time, a boycott banner was put up too.

Minister S. Angara had recently allocated Rs. 3 Crore for the development of the road and performed Guddali Pooja a week ago. Minister S. Angara promised to start the work within a week. The Citizens’ Welfare Forum had said that they would stage a protest if the work did not start. The work on the road has started within a week of the Guddali Pooja and the public has appreciated it.

Meanwhile the Civic Hitarakshana Vedike Adtale congratulated Gram Panchayat Member Keshav Adtale, Former Zilla Panchayat Member Harish Kanjipili and Minister S. Angara for their efforts in developing the road.
