Mangaluru: Police has formed over ten teams to investigate the explosion that happened in a moving autorickshaw, said City Police Commissioner N. Shashi Kumar on Sunday November 20.
“Under the Explosive Substances Act, a case has been filed. The investigation is being coordinated by the police with central agencies, and security has been increased at various places,” the official said.
A fake Aadhar card was reportedly carried by the passenger in the auto when the explosion happened.
Karnataka Director General of Police (DGP) Praveen Sood in a tweet confirmed that the blast was not accidental but an act of terror with the intention to cause serious harm.
The autorickshaw’s driver and passenger were injured in the explosion that happened on Saturday night inside the vehicle. Both are undergoing treatment at the hospital.
