Mangaluru: According to a complaint made to the Mangaluru East police station, a woman was defrauded of Rs 2.45 lakh.
Shilpa Punja, the complainant, has provided cheque leaves in order to seek for a loan from a cooperative bank. After receiving a signed cheque leaves as a security mechanism, the Manager and three other people used them to withdraw money from her account.
According to the lawsuit filed, Ashraf Khadar withdrew Rs. 96,500 in cash and defrauded the woman, while Ratan Kumar took away Rs. 99,000 and Prajwal Joel Fernandes withdrew Rs. 50,000.
