Mangaluru: The boundary wall in front of the Mangaluru City Corporation building has turned out to be dangerous to the public.
Many commuters and pedestrians sometimes sit on the boundary wall in front of the Mangaluru City Corporation building, during which there is a fear of falling down if a little care is not taken. A few months ago, a man sitting on boundary wall in front of the corporation slipped and fell down about twenty feet and no one was aware of it for about an hour, after which the staff called 108 ambulance and sent him to the hospital.
The boundary wall in front of the Corporation is only 10 to 12 feet away from the road. There is an entrance to the first floor directly from the road, Canara bank on the right side, and on the ground floor Mangaluru among others. A wall has been erected for the space in front of the Muncipal building, which is the footpath adjacent to the road and is about 150 metres long.
It is common for many people to come in front of this gate, especially during protest meetings. Further, as there is a tree in front of it, many people sit in the shade and some rest even at night.
