Mangaluru CCB police arrest notorious MDMA drug peddlers

Mangaluru: The Central Crime Branch (CCB) Police in Mangalore have taken decisive action by apprehending three individuals, one of whom is a well-known drug peddler associated with the MDMA (Ecstasy) trade.

Mohammad Imran, from Moodushedde in Mangalore, Amjad Khan (42) of Badagabettu Netaji Nagar in Manipal, Udupi, and Abdul Basheer Abbas (39), a resident of Kalkatta House in Manjanadi, were caught in the act while attempting to sell MDMA drugs sourced from Bangalore. The trio conducted their illicit activities using a Maruti Ritz car in the Bondel Padushedde locality.

Under the leadership of ACP A Hegde from the Mangalore CCB division, the CCB Police conducted a successful operation, resulting in the confiscation of 170 grams of banned MDMA substance, valued at around 9 lakhs INR. Alongside this, five MDMA pills, a Maruti Ritz car, six mobile phones, and digital weighing scales were also seized. The total estimated worth of the seized items amounts to 14,76,500 INR. The suspects are currently under investigation by the Kapu Police Station in Udupi.
