Mangaluru: The CCB Police on Wednesday November 30 arrested nine persons of the Sahebganj robbery gang who attempted to rob a jewellery shop in Ullal Police Station limits. Apart from this, they have also managed to crack the case by seizing various materials stored for the robbery.
Mangaluru CCB police, led by Police Inspector Mahesh Prasad, conducted a raid at a house in Manchila neighbourhood of Thokottu on the intervening night of Tuesday November 29 and Wednesday November 30 after receiving specific information that persons belonging to the notorious Sahebganj robbery gang of North India were planning to rob a jewellery shop in Thokottu.
The arrested have been identified as Bhaskar Belchapada (65) of Bantwal, Kanyana of Gandhiwadi, Gujarat, Dinesh Rawal alias Sagar (38) of Gujarat, Mohammad Jameel Shaikh (29) of Sahebganj District, Jharkhand, Inzamam-ul-Haq (27) of Jharkhand, Bista Roop Singh (34), a resident of Nepal, Krishna Bahadur Bogati (41) of Nepal, Imdadul Razzaq Sheikh (32) from Jharkhand, Biul Sheikh (31) is from Sahebganj, Jharkhand and Imran Shaikh (30) from Jharkhand.
Police has succeeded in foiling a jewellery robbery. All the accused are members of the notorious Sahebganj robbery gang based in North India and had come to Mangaluru by train about 15 days ago with the intention of robbing a jewellery shop in Thokottu and then rented a lodge near Thokottu as well as a house of a person near Thokottu Manchila and then hatched a conspiracy to commit the robbery.
