Mangaluru: Cheque bounce case, man arrested after year

Mangaluru: Belthangady Police arrested a man from Uttar Pradesh, who was absconding for the past one year in connection with the cheque bounce case, and produced him before a Court in Belthangady.

Deepak Maurya (33), a resident of Prayagraj Nagar in Uttar Pradesh, who had given a cheque of Rs. 1 Crore and ten lakh to a person in the taluk in connection with the transaction, had allegedly bounced the cheque and a case was registered at Belthangady Police Station.

After that, he did not come to the Court and went into hiding. The Belthangady Court had issued a warrant against him following which Belthangady Police, in coordination with Uttar Pradesh Police, raided the house of the accused and arrested the accused.

The accused has now been produced before the Court which has remanded him to judicial custody.
