Mangaluru: Chit fund scam, Bhat, his wife in SEN Police custody

Mangaluru: Crores of rupees have been siphoned off in the name of chit fund. Ashok Bhat couple have been sent to SEN Police’s custody.

Ashok Bhat, owner of Bhargavi Finance and his wife Vidya Bhat, have been arrested and interrogated by the SEN Police in connection with the case of duping innocent people by running Bhargavi Finance and Chit Fund at Surathkal in the outskirts of Mangaluru City.

Ashok Bhat, his wife Vidya Bhat and daughter Priyanka Bhat have been accused of defrauding through Bhargavi Finance and Chit Fund. Deepak Kumar Shetty, a native of Surathkal, had lodged a complaint with the SEN police station alleging that he was cheated. The victims, who were duped by him, also demanded justice for them at a press conference.

In a joint operation, SEN and CCB Police have arrested Bhat, owner of Bhargavi Finance, and his wife Vidya Bhat.

The accused were produced before the court which remanded he couple to SEN Police Officers’ custody for five days, informed the Police Department.
