Mangaluru: Deer killed after being hit by car at Belalu

Mangaluru: In a tragic incident, a deer was killed after being hit by a car at Baithadi in Belalu Village under Uppinangady range forest limits.

Siddique, a resident of Kakkinje, was driving the car towards Uppinangady when the deer jumped to cross the road and was hit by the car and died on the spot.

The male deer, which is about three years old, belongs to the ACF of Puttur Forest Sub-Division.

The authorities recovered the deer’s body and performed the last rites in Mannagundi Forest as per departmental rituals.
