Mangaluru: Manglauru Rural Police arrested three persons in connection with the defacing of the Shadaotsava flex banners erected at the Vamanjoor junction.
The accused, Sumith Hegde (25), Yathish Poojary (24), and Praveen Poojary (24), all residents of Vamanjoor were arrested on Tuesday October 11. Police also seized the Maruti Swift used for the crime.
The Vamanjoor Friends’ Sharaddotsava banners were torn by miscreants on Saturday October 8, informed the police.
A police complaint in Manglauru Rural claimed that the act was carried out to insult the community’s religious sentiments.
