Mangaluru: Derogatory post on Prathibha Kulai, plaint filed

Mangaluru: A case has been registered at the Women’s Police Station against the person who uploaded the derogatory photo and video of Congress leader Prathibha Kulai online.

According to police, Shyama Sudarshan Bhat, a city resident, was booked on Saturday October 22 after Kulai filed a complaint accusing him of outraging a woman’s modesty by posting derogatory content on social media.

In her complaint, Kulai claimed that someone had illegally shared on social media her edited photos and videos from the protest on October 18 against the Surathkal toll gate. The complaint stated that the accused also posted an offensive comment an image of the accused surrounded by police officers.

She demanded that the person who had insulted her modesty, insulted her and severely damaged her reputation as a social worker be dealt with immediately.

Police are looking for the culprit and will find him shortly, informed City Police Commissioner N. Shashi Kumar.
