Mangaluru: Disproportionate assets, man gets 4 -year jail term

Mangaluru: Senior Health Inspector for Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC) Shivalinga Kondaguli was found guilty of amassing assets out of proportion to his known sources of income and given a four-year sentence by Third Additional District and Sessions Judge B. B. Jakati on Friday October 14.

Shivalinga was also fined Rs. 1 Crore by Judge B. B. Jakati. If the accused fails to pay the fine, they have issued an order imposing another 1-year imprisonment.

On February 15, 2013, a case was filed by the Lokayukta police under various sections of the 1988 Prevention of Corruption Act.
Lokayukta DySP Umesh G. Shet had submitted the chargesheet in court.
