Mangaluru: As many as 518 persons in the City have been detained to verify whether they are illegal Bangladesh immigrants as they have allegedly failed to provide required documents.
Speaking to mediapersons, Police Commissioner N. Shashi Kumar said, “We are looking into 20 areas as far as evidences and documents are concerned that includes basic documents like Aadhar Card, Voter ID, Call Details Record to calls made.”
City Police had launched a drive against illegal immigrants from Bangladesh, recently. And now they have identified 518 persons who have failed to submit necessary.
