Mangaluru: Three persons, who were arrested for trying to smuggle MDMA have been produced before a Court here and remanded to judicial custody.
There is a suspicion of several other accused involved in the case and the search operation is on, said Police Officials.
Acting on the information that the gang is coming to the Town to sell the drug MDMA in a car through the Kerala border, the Police team of City Crime Branch (CCB) inspected the car near Thachani on Talapady – Devipura Road and found the contraband.
The arrested have been identified as Abdul Rehman Arfan alias Jaldi Arfan (24), a resident of Melangadi House on Ullal Dargah Road, Abdul Jaleel (42), a resident of Bolooru Bokkapatna and Mohammed Mansoor (29) of Boliyaru Village.
A total of 32 grams of MDMA drugs worth Rs. 1.62 Lakh, four mobile phones, digital weighing machine, Rs. 22,000 in cash and a Maruti Ignis Car used for crime have been seized. Its total value is approximately Rs. 7.17 Lakh .
It is said that the accused used to buy drugs illegally and sell them to the public in Deralakatte, Mudipu, Nettilapadavu, Talapady, Ullal and Mangaluru City.
A case has been registered against the accused at CEN Crime Police Station.
