Mangaluru: Konaje police arrested four persons on charges of drug trafficking and seized property worth Rs. 6.32 lakh from them.
The accused have been identified as Jamsheer (24), a resident of Malappuram district, Mohammed Naufal (24), Mohammed Batish (37), Mohammed Ashraf (42)—all Kasaragod district residents. They were arrested while transporting drugs from Bengaluru to Kerala via the Boliyar route.
Acting on credible information, the Alto car the accused were travelling in was stopped at the check post at Chelur by the police team, which was led by PSI Sharanappa Bhandari. Over 32 kg of ganja worth Rs. 3.19 lakh, four phones worth Rs. 13,000, and a car worth Rs. 3 lakhs were found and seized during the checking.
A case has been registered at the Konaje Police Station in this regard.
