Mangaluru: Deputy commissioner (DC) Dr Rajendra K. V. directed officials to expedite the process of Elector’s Photo Identity Card (EPIC) with Aadhar card.
The Union and state Election Commissions have instructed citizens to link their voter identification cards with their Aadhar cards to stop multiple entries in electoral rolls and make them error-free. “I have given the concerned officials the go-ahead to put together such a presentation and educate the staff through the process. Otherwise, suitable action will be taken against them,” he said.
Dr. Kumar, the CEO of the Dakshina Kannada Zilla Panchayat, gave the officers the instruction to organise a registration campaign on August 21 to link EPIC with Aadhaar cards. All BLOs must be present at polling places from 10.00 am to 5.00 pm, he added.
