Mangaluru gets ready for traditional ‘Kambala’

Mangaluru: The festive atmosphere will continue in the city, ahead of “Mangaluru Kambala”, a traditional slush track buffalo race which will be held on December 3 at Goldfinch City, Bangrakulooru.
Captain Brijesh Chowta, President of Mangaluru Kambala Committee, on November 29, in a press meet informed that the Kambala would be inaugurated by NITTE Chancellor Vinay Hegde on December 3

“K Prakash Shetty, CDM of MRJ group will inaugurate Rama-Lakshmana slush track. Mangaluru City Corporation Mayor Kavitha Sanil will preside over the programme. Ministers from the state and union governments will take part in the public function at 6:00 PM on December 3. The prizes for winners will be given on December 4 at 8:00 AM “, he added.

He further said that it was also an effort to showcase the beauty of traditional Kambala to the people of Mangaluru.

 
Prasad Kumar Shetty, Shedde, Kottaraguttu Honorary Advisor Mangaluru Kambala Committee; Vijay Kumar Kanginamane, Honorary Advisor, Mangaluru Kambala Committee; Ravichandra M P, General Secretary; Kishor Kumar Puttur, Vice President of Kambala Committee; Nandan Mallya, Vice President of Kambala Committee; Keshava Bangera, Vice President of Kambala Committee and others were present during the press  meet.
