Mangaluru: A sum of Rs. 2,01,69,800 has been collected in various cases from January 1 to 18 at Mangalore International Airport. Customs officials seized 3,677 grams of gold worth Rs. 1,000 Crore.
The eight passengers, who arrived from Dubai and Abu Dhabi, tried to smuggle the gold in various ways.
With this, Rs. 3,20,265 was recovered from a passenger who had landed from Dubai. E-nicotine liquid and cigarettes used in e-cigarettes have also been seized. It was alleged that the passenger concealed it in a bag and tried to transport it.
