Mangaluru: The water level of Dakshina Kannada’s Netravati River is edging closer to the danger mark as a result of the recent heavy rains.
The Netravati River’s danger mark is 8.5 m, however, the water level has now risen to 8 metres. The District Administration officials expect a flood-like situation in regions along the river as a result of this.
The locals along the river have been warned by the officials to remain alert. According to sources, Bantwal Tahsildar Smita Ramu reassured the residents of the low-lying areas not to be alarmed and said that all arrangements for dealing with a flood-like situation had been made. She has also urged people to contact police or revenue officials if they have any problems.
