Mangaluru: Bajrang Dal (BD) and Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) appealed to City police Commissioner N. Shashi Kumar, urging him not to provide permission for programmes containing indecent dances, drugs, and alcohol in the name of celebrating New Year’s Eve on December 31.
The Bajrang Dal vehemently opposes the celebrations that are held in the name of the New Year since they are based on Western culture, stated the appeal that was submitted. Girls are already misled in the name of love jihad and encouraged to take part in programmes like these, it added.
The memorandum also stated that there is a risk that the sex and drug mafia will widen their networks at these events. It advised taking strict measures to close all bars and pubs within the specified time.
