Mangaluru: Holi celebration, advice on not to disturb animals

Mangaluru: Holi will be celebrated across the State on Wednesday March 8.

The main attraction of Holi festival is throwing of colours. Innocent animals are more likely to be directly or indirectly exposed to the harmful effects of colours during coloring. It is the duty of every citizen to take care of and protect innocent animals along with the celebration of the festival.

Therefore, the public should celebrate the festival without causing any harm to the animals during the Holi celebrations and if any animal is found to be coloured, appropriate action will be taken as per Section 11 of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960, according to a press release from the Member Secretary, Dakshina Kannada District Animal Daya Sangha.
