Mangaluru: Five people, including the driver of the auto rickshaw, were seriously injured in a head-on collision between a car and an autorickshaw near Perinje Bandasale on the Venur-Moodbidire State Highway.
It is said that the auto rickshaw (KA 20, AA7956) was coming towards Venur from Moodabidri when it collided with a car coming from Venur near Perinje Bandasale. As a result of the collision, the car and the autorickshaw overturned and were crushed. The rickshaw driver and the woman and three children who were traveling in it were seriously injured and were shifted to a private hospital in Moodbidiri.
It has been learnt that the condition of a boy is critical. It is said that three people including the driver were traveling in the car and there were no injuries.
The Venur Police has registered a case against the car driver Prasad of Tumakuru.
