Mangaluru: MP Nalin Kumar Kateel said that Kudremukh Iron Ore Company Limited (KIOCL) is working to meet the demands of local employment and ensure that there is no opposition of any kind.
He was speaking after distributing cheques worth a total of Rs. 2 Crore to various organisations and departments under the CSR fund of Kudremukh Iron Ore Company Limited (KIOCL) at the Deputy Commissioner’s office auditorium in the City where programme Corporate Social Responsibility – 2022 was held. “Whenever new industries start in any place, it is natural that there will be demand for employment from the locals. KIOCL is the company that fulfilled those demands. During the Covid pandemic, it has helped in providing oxygen plants to Government hospitals at three places as well as kits and ambulances at various places, he said andappreciated that the CSR fund has been disbursed at present by dividing it into health, services, defence, education etc.
Mangaluru Deputy Commissioner Dr. Rajendra K. V. said, “KIOCL has helped in setting up a dialysis machine at the District Wenlock Hospital thereby helping in the treatment of patients facing kidney problems. Now those coming for dialysis will not have to wait. KIOCL is providing financial assistance for the purchase of the much-needed vehicle for the children’s helpline, he appreciated.
KIOCL Chairman and Managing Director Saminathan said, “Last year also, the company had helped in public works with CSR funds.”
KIOCL Chief General Manager Ramakrishna Rao, Finance Department Director Sawapan Kumar, Production and Planning Division Director K. V. Bhaskar Reddy, Department of Commerce Director Vinay Krishna Mohapatra, Human Resource Division Senior Manager G. V. Kiran, Murgesh H. and others were present.
Dialysis Unit of Wenlock Hospital, Construction of two rooms of Maniyakara School, Puttur, Construction of two rooms at Kavoor PU College, Purchase of vehicle for children’s helpline unit, Wenlock Hospital building renovation, Mangala Seva Samiti of Kuthar, Bantwal Vamapadavu Community Health Centre X-ray machine purchase, and Police Quarters Counselling Hall renovation among other CSR activities were conducted.
The MP distributed cheques worth a total amount of Rs 2 crore to various departments and institutions, including Bharati Gaushala.
