Mangaluru: Lathi-charge incident, PSIs transferred as damage control mode

Mangaluru: After lathi -charge during BJP activist Praveen body procession issue, the Government has moved forward for damage control after the severe face-off.

Minister S. Angara visited the house of RSS worker Ramesh in Kerala. There was a huge controversy about the lathi-charge on Ramesh. As the video went viral, even the RSS leaders were upset with the BJP leaders and hence Minister Angara visited Ramesh’s residence in Talipadpu, Kasaragod District, Kerala.

Angara met Ramesh and enquired about his health. He also expressed his sadness to Ramesh. Angara visited Ramesh’s house with BJP leaders from Sullia and Puttur.

Tight security was provided by more than 100 Kerala policemen due to Minister Angara’s visit.

Further, yielding to the pressure of the activists, the police officers who indulhed in lathi-charginb activists were transferred. Policw Sun-Inspectirs of Bellare and Subrahmanya Station have been transferred. Western Range IGP Devajyoti Ray ordered the transfer.

While Suhas has been appointed as new PSI for Bellare and Manjunath T. has been appointed as PSI for Subrahmanya. Suhas was serving as Kundapur PSI and Manjunath was earlier the PSI of Vittal Police Station. Transferred PSIs have been instructed to report at Mangaluru IGP Office with immediate effect.
