Mangaluru: The District Administration, Zilla Panchayat, Kannada and Culture Department celebrated Bhagavan Mahaveer Jayanti in a simple and symbolic manner at Tulu Bhavan here on Tuesday April 4.
Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Dr. Kumar inaugurated the programme and said that the five principles of Ahimsa, Satya, Asteya, Brahmacharya, and Aparigraha are essential for spiritual and secular achievements of Mahavir and his principles can be a solution to the present world situation.
Karnataka State Jain Milan State President Pushparaja Jain, Dakshina Kannada District Jain Milan President Ratnakar Jain, Pramod Kumar Jain, Mahaveer Jain and office-bearers of the Jain community were present.
