Mangaluru: Manisha, a girl from Mangaluru, is a true example of how if there is perseverance to achieve, no matter what the challenges, one will climb the ladder of achievement. Manisha, who had the support of her family for this achievement and aspired to fulfill her father’s dream of serving the country, has been selected for the Air Force Flying Branch.
Manisha is the daughter of Manohar Shetty, a retired State Bank of India official, and Malathi Shetty, Headmaster of a Government School. She is a resident of Ashoka Nagar.
Manisha will leave for Hyderabad on July 9 for training in the Flying Branch of the Indian Air Force. She completed her schooling and PUC education at Bejai Lourdes Central School and St. Aloysius Pre-University College, respectively as well as completed her BE from M. S. Ramaiah College, Bengaluru. After this, she was working at Mercedes.
Earlier she was selected for the Army and Navy but she did not opt to join. With a desire to become a pilot in the Indian Air Force she worked hard and has finally achieved what she wanted.
Speaking to News Karnataka, Manohar Shetty said, “We are proud of our daughter’s achievement. I had dreamt of making one of my two children as pilot. Thus when I noticed Manisha’s interest towards the field, encouraged her to join the Air Force.
