Mangaluru: Medico drug case live-in relation cause for addiction

Mangaluru: Seven medical students and two doctors, have been arrested in connection with the high-profile ganja racket in Mangaluru. The number of people arrested so far has gone up to 24.

Siddarth Pawaskar, and Sudhindra, doctors at different private hospitals have been arrested. The medical students have been identified as Dr. Vidush Kumar and Dr. Ishmidda from UP, Dr. Suryajit Dev from Kerala, Dr. Ayesha Mohammed from Kerala, Dr. Pranay Nataraj from Telangana, Dr. Chetna and Dr Sharanya from Delhi.

In Mangaluru, 10 people, including doctors and students, were arrested in connection with a high-profile ganja racket. During the interrogation of the arrested persons, explosive information emerged that the main reason for the girl students falling into the habit of drug addiction was that they were in a live-in relationship.

They came from different states, got to know each other and the young men and women stayed together. Surprising information has been revealed that they were heavily into drugs and sex.

In many apartments of the City, students are living together and indulging in drug racket. During the course of the investigation, it was revealed that they were also attracting their friends into it.

Doctors Dr. Sameer (32) and Manimaran Muthu (28) were earlier arrested. The other students who were earlier arrested have been identified as Dr. Nadhiya Siraj (24), Dr. Varshini Prati (26), Dr. Riya Chadda (22), Dr. Heera Basin (23), and a local Mohammed Rauf alias Ghouse (34). The students Dr. Bhanu Dahiya (27) and Dr. Kshitij Gupta (23) have also been taken into custody by the CCB Police.
