Mangaluru: Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) General Secretary Mamatha Gatti on Monday October 24 demanded the resignation of Housing Minister V. Somanna for allegedly slapping a woman at a public event held at Chamarajanagara.
Speaking to mediapersons she said, “The Minister’s act showed his attitude toward women and he should give his resignation right away or the Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai should sack him from his post.”
“Since the BJP took power, attacks on women had increased,” she said.
Somanna on Sunday apologised for reportedly slapping a woman who approached him to ask him to resolve her grievance.
Gatti also urged that the police take harsh action against those responsible for spreading derogatory posts about KPCC Coordinator Prathibha Kulai on social media.
