Mangaluru: MLA U. T. Khader said that in the last ten days, three youth have been killed in our District. I condemn the three murders committed by the power of the society, he added.

Speaking to mediapersons, Khader said that Dakshina Kannada gets a bad name from serial murders. Bad name for the Government and the Police Department too. There is a need to take a serious view of the three incidents and conduct a special investigation. Whoever the real culprits are or the organisation, the Police Department should be track them down. Innocents should not be disturbed for the sake of politics. The Government should find out those who indirectly instigated the act. Action should be taken in such a way that this does not happen in future, he stressed.

Khader said, “The Government should work with the Police Department in coordination with the Intelligence Department. Everyone should cooperate for the peace of the society. Leaders from outside the State, and District should make statements of peace and cooperation. Don’t make statements that create hatred towards religion, think and talk. When such incident happens, the CM of the State speaks on one side. What type of Government it is which gives compensation for a victim of a particular community only. Every mother feels the pain of losing her son. Praveen and Fazil’s mother are alike. The family of the deceased has appealed to find out the real culprits. But there is no pain for the Chief Minister. The Police Department cannot work when the Chief Minister does not act boldly and fairly. Chief Minister said that when the Home Minister comes to the spot, everything will be fine. But here when Home Minister and Chief Minister come the murder happens. When the first incident took place, it would have been better if a proper stand had been taken. The compensation for one victim not for another. Do you give out of your pocket? Two yardstick for justice is not right. If they don’t give, will people have to collect it themselves? There is no loss to the family if compensation is not paid. It can be gained in a different way. But it is a black spot for Chief Minister’s dignity. The Government and the CM have not paid because of the power of fanaticism will hurt. Who can give justice if one is controlled of others. Justice should be done for all, he added.
