Mangaluru: Former Minister and Congress MLA U. T. Khader said that the model code of conduct is being implemented in different ways as part of election declaration and people need to be made aware about it.

Speaking to mediapersons, he said, “Banners of the religious event have been removed, and even though there are no photos of political leaders others banners too have been removed. The sudden decision of the authorities has created confusion among the people. The authorities need to give a clear order in this regard. A control room needs to be opened in the district to inform people,” he said.

On the issue of 2B Reservation, he said, “The BJP Government’s stand is anti-reservation policy. The BJP leaders had approached the court seeking cancellation of reservation. We strongly condemn the abrogation of 2B. This confusion has arisen only during the tenure of the BJP Government and the intention of this order is to create anarchy in the society. Removing reservation for Dalits is the agenda of the BJP. If the Congress comes to power, justice will be done to all sections of the society.”
