Mangaluru: Dakshina Kannada Deputy Commissioner M. R. Ravikumar said toll collection at the Surathkal plaza will be stopped entirely by November 30 night.
The DC issued orders to that effect on November 24 that were made public on Monday based on the letter the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) Project Director had issued.
The order from NHAI also states that the State Government must reimburse the losses on this account as per the state support agreement to NHAI to prevent any disruption or stoppage of the combined toll collection at the Hejamadi Toll Plaza or in case there is any disruption or stoppage of toll collection.
The decision was made to remove the toll gate near NIT-K in Surathkal after several public protests.
