Mangaluru: Noted Writer Sara Aboobacker passes away

Mangaluru: Noted Writer Sara Aboobacker passed away at the age of 84 after a brief illness.

Sara Aboobacker has been awarded the Karnataka Sahitya Akademi Award, Daana Chintamani Attimabbe Award, etc.

She was born on June 30, 1936, in a Village on the banks of Chandragiri in Kasaragod. Her father, P. Ahmed was an advocate and her mother, Chinabi.

Her first novel ‘Chandragiriya Teeradalli’ was serialised in Lankesh Patrike. She later wrote several other novels such as Sahana, Vajragalu, Kadanavirama, Suliyalli Sikkavaru, Pravaha-Suli (Suliyalli Sikkavaru Kritiya Bhaga – 2), Thala Odeda Doni, Panjara and others.
