More than 200 mobile phones have been traced in Mangaluru City so far using the CEIR portal. To make it more effective, a WhatsApp number service has been launched in Mangaluru to help people and those who have lost their mobile phones can inform directly on the portal.
Otherwise, if one sends a ‘hi’ message to the WhatsApp number 8277949183, the police will send a link and tell them how to upload the information.
Mangaluru Police Commissioner Kuldeep Kumar R. Jain said it was necessary to have the IMEI number of the mobile phone.
