In a swift operation, Mangaluru City Police’s Crime Station apprehended an individual accused of duping people by promising fake part-time jobs through WhatsApp. The arrested suspect, identified as Saddam Gowri Bawuri (30) from Bawuri in Rajasthan’s Jodhpur district, was taken into custody.
According to the statement issued by the Commissioner of Police, the arrest was made in Bawuri, Jodhpur district, and the suspect was promptly presented before the court. The modus operandi involved sending messages containing links promising lucrative part-time opportunities. The victim, lured by the promise of earning money through these tasks, ended up losing Rs 1.15 lakh to the scam.
Upon realizing the deception, the victim filed a complaint with the police, leading to the registration of a case at the Sen police station. The arrest operation was conducted under the vigilant supervision of Mangaluru City Police Commissioner Anupama Aggarwal and DCP Siddhartha Goyal, with the coordination of ACP Ravish Naik from the CCRB unit and officers and staff of Mangaluru City Sen Crime Police Station.
