Mangaluru: The incident that took place in front of a pub in the City has given a blow to the brand Mangaluru, said Mangaluru MLA U. T. Khader.

Speaking to mediapersons on Tuesday July 26, said that the pub incident is an act by anti-social forces. This is a black mark on the honour of Brand Mangaluru. This is fatal for the future development of the City, he observed and urged the Government should identify such people and take necessary action.

Stating that such businessmen have suffered losses due to Covid, paying of taxes and GST, Khader added that they also need to give these rowdy elements Hafta. And such incidents are just their weekly collection strategy, he noted.

Khader called on the Government ro take note of this as the peace of the people is getting spoiled. The State Government and Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai is the reason for such incidents. The action-reaction statement said by the CM is still registered in the minds of these youths, added.

Further questioning activists he said, the children there have parents. Who allowed them to go to private space and abuse others’ children? Let the Government and the Police Department conduct a thorough investigation. Don’t disturb the peace of mind of those doing business in the City. Take action against this blackmailers, he urged.

Demanding the Government to take action to save the honour of the City, Khader said that no IT company has made foray into the City except Infosys. This is dangerous for the development of the region, he said.

Police has filed a case in Lip-lock incident, he said and asked what is the Government and Police doing with regard to pub incident? Why the silence on this issue? They attacked pub for not paying Hafta. Let the Police Department conduct a thorough investigation into this. The name of our District should not be tarnished, and hence immediate action should be taken. Law-abiding traders should be left peacefully. If minors have come, let the Excise Department take action against them, he urged.
