Mangaluru: In a tragic incident, a 20-year-old man lost his life after his two-wheeler flew into the air and hit the divider as he tried to avoid a pothole at Bikkarnakatte Kandettu Cross on Saturday August 6.
The deceased has been identified as Aathish, a Konchady resident. He was travelling from Nanthoor Junction to Bikarnakatte Kaikamba when the accident happened.
According tosources, Aathish did not see a pothole on the road because of water logging. He tried to turn the two-wheeler around the pothole but lost control and it was flung into the air. The bike crashed onto the divider some 50 feet away. Aatish’s head hit the iron reflector pole that was placed on the divider.
He sustained injuries due to the impact of the mishap and though he was rushed to a hospital, he died on the way.
A case has been registered in this regard.
