Mangaluru: Robbery of gold at Ujire, held

Mangaluru: When a woman was alone in her house, a thief broke into the house and threatened her with a knife.

The robbery incident of gold jewelery worth 75,000 took place in Ujire on April 22. The incident took place at the house of Shriyala Devi (71), wife of Pandiraja a resident of Halepet Jain Compound of Ujire Village.

It is said that on Friday April 21 Shreyala Devi was alone in the house of Jain Compound, Ujire village, at around 2.30 am, an unknown person entered the house and threatened her to give gold by showing a knife in his hand.

Later, Shriyala Devi’s complainwd to the Belthangady Police and said that they had pulled the 3 sovereign old karimani and 1 gram chain around her neck.

The total value of the looted jewelery is estimated to be Rs 75,000. In this regard, a case has been registered under Belthangady Police Station.
