Mangaluru:  The family of a brain-dead youth who decided to give a new lease of life to six people by donating their organs has been sanctioned Rs. 5 Lakh  from the Chief Minister’s Special Grant Fund.

Yashraj (16), a resident of Ullal Mastikatte, was on his way to college on September 7, 2022 when he fell from a City bus near Adamkudru and sustained serious head injuries. He was immediately rushed to a private hospital where doctors declared him brain dead on September 13.

Yashraj’s parents set an example for the society by taking the noble decision of donating his organs. MLA U. T. Khader appreciated Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai’s decision and promised to provide relief from a special grant. He also demanded that more awareness should be created about organ donation among the public.
