Mangaluru: Condemning the illegal operation at the SDPI District Office by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and the illegal arrest of Popular Front leaders, the SDPI Bantwala Assembly Constituency staged a massive protest at Kaikamba in B. C Road here on Saturday September 24.

SDPI Bantwala Committee President Moonish Ali, who led the protest, said, “The NIA, which was supposed to attack the clans of the RSS and the Sangh Parivar, which has a history of terrorist acts like Gandhi’s assassination, demolition of Babri Masjid and Gujarat and Bhagalpur massacres, has lost its way. It is impossible for you to suppress a social organisation called the PFI. What other organisations did for hundred years, PFI has done in just 25 years. PFI has convinced the people of the ideals of protecting the country in every nook and corner of the country. At least the PFI has made people aware of their intention to oppose the RSS.”

Addressing the protest, SDPI National General Secretary Ilyas Mohammed Thumbay said, “The moment the NIA and the BJP Government arrested the leaders of the social organisation, PFI, it may have been a dream that there would be no leader. But the BJP should know the fact that every member of the PFI is also a leader. PFI extends across the country. The RSS and the BJP, which have failed to ideologically countering the PFI are trying to intimidate the investigating agencies by cracking down on them by making attacks. This attempt is a failed attempt. It is clearly visible through this attack that you are afraid of PFI. This is your temporary victory,” he said.

SDPI Dakshina Kannada District Secretary Shakir Alake Majalu, SDPI Dakshina Kannada District Members Shahul S. H., Yusuf Aladka, SDPI Bantwal Assembly Constituency Committee Secretary Qalandar Parthipadi, SDPI Bantwal Municipal Committee President Shareef Valavoor and Municipal Councillor Idris P. J. were present.

Ashraf Talapady welcomed, anchored and delivered the vote of thanks at the programme. The protesters shouted slogans.
